OK, let's play an American Idol game. (Sorry for thinking of this so late.) Mariah Tuesday is Mariah Carey night (she'll perform Wednesday), which doesn't figure to be easy for the guys. But The Beatles were no picnic for the women.
Here are the remaining finalists: David Archuleta, Jason Castro, David Cook, Kristy Lee Cook, Syesha Mercado, Carly Smithson and Brooke White.
The Carey catalog is too vast to list but if you are inclined to play the game I'm going to suggest, you have to be really familiar with it anyway. If you were advising the contestants, so that they don't get the "poor song choice" criticism, which Mariah tune would you advise each of them to sing? You can take a shot at all seven or maybe hone in on one or two that you think would be especially suitable for particular wannabes.
There's no prize but your selections (as long as they are in good taste) will be left up on the comments site so the world can see how smart and/or prescient you are.
6:45 p.m. Update: Cancel the contest. The gossip site TMZ, which apparently had a mole at dress rehearsal, has come up with Tuesday's playlist. (If I found it, some of you did, too, so no bragging rights.)
