Clinton Campaign Loathsome, Stale, Run By A Greedy, Squandering Slime by Bill Gallagher Link to ArticleThey've created a record of failure for the ages and the Republicans deserve to be pummeled for the mess they've brought upon a suffering nation. This election should be a referendum on that record and the Democrats should force them to defend it at every turn.We go to press before the outcome of Tuesday's critical primaries in Ohio, Texas, Rhode Island and Vermont. I can only hope the outcome is clear and Hillary Clinton goes gentle into that good night. Her campaign has hinged on the Clintonian claim of an entitled presidency, the incessant "ready on day one" mantra, the support of the stale Democratic Party establishment and a campaign war chest largely squandered on high-priced consultants, now positioning themselves away from responsibility for the strategies and decisions that saw Hillary's once-sure grip on the nomination slip away. Sen. Clinton is, however, most resilient, and if she believes she still has any hope of wresting the nomination from Sen. Barack Obama, she will fight to the bitter end, knowing this is her one and only chance for a grand restoration to the White House. Her last hurrah for the presidency won't come unless she's decisively knocked out this week. The Clinton campaign, under the direction of its media guru, the loathsome Mark Penn, who has been paid nearly $4 million for his gutter tactics, is recklessly suggesting Obama is not prepared to be commander in chief. They produced a TV ad Sen. John McCain and the Busheviks love. Penn and the other greedy slime in the Clinton campaign care nothing about the general election if their gal is not in it, and they're not running up huge fees. Reaching back to Cold War fright themes, Clinton unveiled a campaign ad in Texas intended to scare people and slur Obama in the process. The ad is the product of the politics of desperation and shows the ruthlessness of the Clinton campaign machine.
