The Hanneford Family Circus at the Swap Shop, a Broward institution for years, was abruptly evicted Thursday by owner Preston Henn.

Henn said it was because they failed to get workers' compensation insurance, and he's been sued before over accidents at the circus.

Workers were tearing down the performance area Thursday. No word on what will happen to the elephants and other animals. An animal-rights group has offered to help find homes for them.
